Language Board: Italian · ages 2–6
Italian for little kids, one picture at a time
Cane. Mela. Stella. Language Board: Italian is 210 Italian words, each attached to a picture and a clear voice saying it out loud.
Free to download with three full categories. One purchase unlocks the rest.
How it works
Your child opens the board and sees things they recognise. They tap one. A clear voice says it in Italian. That is the entire interaction, and it is enough.
Italian is one of the kindest languages to a young ear. Every letter gets pronounced, the vowels stay where they are put, and words end roundly and predictably — which is exactly the sort of pattern a toddler's ear picks up without being asked to.
- 210 words, each drawn by hand and spoken aloud in Italian.
- 21 categories, from animals and food to emotions, space and the kitchen.
- Three free categories, so you can see whether your child takes to it before paying.
- Works offline, every picture and every sound is bundled inside the app.
- Nothing collected, no analytics, no accounts, no ads, no data leaves the device.
- iPhone and iPad, one purchase covers both, on iOS 15 and later.

Language Board: Italian collects no data. No personal information, no analytics, no device identifiers, no cookies, and nothing sent to any server — there is no server to send it to. Your child's language and their place on the board are stored on the device and go nowhere else.
Questions parents ask
What age is Language Board for?
It is built for roughly ages 2 to 6 — the stretch where children are naming everything in sight. There is no reading required: a child taps a picture and hears the word. Older children learning a new language find it useful too, as a picture dictionary.
Is there one app per language?
Yes. Each language is its own app, so your child sees only the language you chose — no menus to get lost in and nothing to switch by accident. Pick the language you want and download that app.
How much does it cost?
Every app is free to download with three full categories — animals, food and shapes, 30 words in total. Unlocking the remaining 18 categories is a single one-time purchase. There is no subscription and no recurring charge.
Does it work without an internet connection?
Yes. The illustrations and the audio for all 210 words are bundled inside the app, so it works on a plane, in a car, or anywhere else with no signal.
Does the app collect any data about my child?
No. Language Board collects nothing at all: no personal information, no analytics, no device identifiers, no location, no cookies. Nothing is sent to any server. Your language preference and scroll position are the only things stored, and they stay on the device.
Are there ads or in-app pop-ups?
There are no ads, no third-party content, and no social features. The only links that leave the app sit behind a parental gate that asks a question a small child cannot answer.
How does my child hear each word?
Every one of the 210 words has its own audio file, spoken in a clear, warm, unhurried voice and bundled with the app. Tapping a picture plays it. Tapping again plays it again, as many times as your child wants.
Which devices does it run on?
iPhone and iPad, on iOS 15 and later. The board is laid out for both, so it works the same on a phone in the back seat and on a tablet at the kitchen table.
